Hello old friends and soon to be friends! My name is Mishi Choudhary. Just like you, I am a part of this robust network through my organization SFLC.in. We are a digital rights group based out of India. I am here to ask you to support my nomination to the IFEX Council because the work of free speech warriors is never done.

I bring domain knowledge, legal acumen, business training and lots of passion to help the work of the Council. Not to miss, some fun and entertainment. I am a lawyer by day and an activist at heart. I advise several Boards on legal matters encompassing everything from HR, finance, insurance, strategic direction that helps them make responsible decisions. My business background helps provide context for the financial decisions and fund raising experience brings my network to serve the work IFEX does.

The 21st century is throwing more and more complicated problems at us, social media that has turned us against each other, helped political players to weaponize free expression against dissidents, causing mental health problems for our children. A war that has upended all geopolitical calculations on their head, a world environment where journalists and those who speak truth to power are constantly threatened in an environment that may no longer exist for humans, its only the power of many across the world that can show hope in these dark times. IFEX is one such network. Like you, I work with heart and passion to do meaningful work in my life. An opportunity to serve you all through the work of the Council is something that I value deeply.
